Social media allows apartment hunters to discover listings and open houses happening now with the touch of a finger. Not to mention, reliable and direct information from friends to avoid lengthy searching through hundreds of listings. So if you haven’t already, check out some real estate firms and groups on the following 4 platforms.
Twitter might be the most popular professional social media platform right now, and the real estate market is no exception. Besides discovering new listings, twitter is also a good source of information about different neighborhoods, trends in the real estate market, and simply asking professionals casual questions you may have. Start following a couple firms or brokers you may have befriended on twitter and you are sure not to miss a great deal when looking for a new home.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Real estate professionals are well aware that pictures speak louder than any description they could write online or tell you over the phone. Instagram represents an up and coming platform for real estate agents to show case properties and unique features/designs. Not to mention Instagram’s latest feature “Insta-video,” a tool many agents are excited about using to truly capture views and design.
Although many of us use Pinterest to find creative cooking recipes and online shop, many real estate firms have created boards with pinned listings and design ideas. Follow and share ideas with friends, the design inspiration may come in handy down the road. By following real estate “pinners” you can get a sense of what types of listings a firm usually has and various requirements for your future home.
Last but not least, almost all real estate firms, and even some groups and individual professionals, have Facebook pages. If you simply search the firms on your Facebook, and “Like” their pages now, later on this may come in handy when searching for a new apartment.
The Lion Group has accounts on all of the platforms listed above. Constantly updating and reaching out to fellow New Yorkers, we’d love to connect with you and hear your opinion.
